This year, Armenia has been one of the biggest challenges of my journey and also the closest thing I've had to a home in almost a year and a half.
After adopting my dog Vedi off the street in January, my travel plans blew up. It was too cold to travel in the van, I didn't have the budget for permanent single rooms with a dog and I couldn't leave the country as Vedi's documents took a lot of time. In addition, with snow, ice and non-existent road clearance, it was almost impossible to travel around the country.
Accordingly, I looked for a workaway and ended up in Kalavan, a place that I would later come to love and ... well, not-love ... like no other. After all, I spent weeks there in January and February as well as in June and July, spending my time working on and around the house, training the doggo, writing and reading.
